Thrive Program hosts Rocket Launch Party at Michael O. Buchanan Park

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Thursday afternoon, the Thrive Program, along with the Warren County Public Library, hosted their Rocket Launch Party after a week of camp preparation.

Throughout the week, local kids got to learn about building these rockets and how to make the best possible build for fly the furthest distance.

The camps run four days a week from Monday to Thursday, with the final day being open to the public to come out and enjoy.

Several rockets were launched at the party on Thursday, and some kids were even putting some together to see how far theirs would reach.

Some rockets flew further than others, but the program gave kids a chance to meet and interact with others their age and meet new people throughout the summer.

This was one of four weekly programs that Thrive has hosted throughout the summer. Each program has a special guest and welcomes new and returning kids to participate in many different activities.

“This gives them a space to come make crafts, be creative, also play games to get energy out, but then also connect with different people in the community and so especially sometimes and maybe kids here that you don’t see every day,” said Emma Kate Nalley, a Thrive Program Lead.

Thrive has one more weekly program left for the summer. For more information, visit https://www.warrenpl.org/calendar/
