PTK makes kids stars and leaders
The Public Theatre of Kentucky is a special non-profit organization.
It does more than teach proper lighting or stage placement.
At the PTK, kids are immersed in life-lessons that they take with them.
Manners, respect, being on time are just a few values instilled in the kids.
This is done through summer camps, productions and more.
One Lead Counselor, Meaghan Ritchie, prides herself on what she teaches.
She says it’s more than teaching theatre but allowing them to express themselves freely.
At the PTK, they encourage kids to participate in everything there is.
This gives kids a chance to discover what they love, don’t and keeps their minds going.
Meaghan also values each kid’s personality and invites them to show it without hesitation.
However, she prides herself on grooming the kids to be leaders in the community.
She realizes their potential and wants to see each kid surpass what’s expected of them.
The PTK delivers high-quality productions regularly and the kids play every part in that.
This non-profit organization gives kids hands-on experiences and fun at the same time.
