SoKY’s Choice: HOTEL INC celebrates 45 years of serving Warren County community
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WNKY) – HOTEL INC celebrated 45 years of service by honoring the people and partnerships that have helped the organization continue its mission of helping others throughout Warren County.
The anniversary celebration included community vendors, family activities, food and a special proclamation recognizing the nonprofit’s decades of work.
HOTEL INC Director of Operations Rebecca Troxell said the organization’s longevity is a reflection of the support it has received from the community.
“We are very privileged to be able to serve this community and is because of our volunteers and our board and our staff, and just how this community is always stepping in to make sure that we have what we need to provide what others need,” Troxell said.
HOTEL INC, which stands for Helping Others Through Extending Love in the Name of Christ, provides resources and support for people navigating difficult circumstances.
Troxell said the organization has continued through challenges including tornadoes and the pandemic because of the commitment of those who serve.
“We are sad that we have to be here. We wish that no one needed to walk in and ask for any kind of help,” Troxell said. “But for as long as it is necessary, we’re going to be here serving people the best way we know how.”
The organization’s Delafield Co-Op Market is also part of that mission, providing affordable food options while building connections within the community.
Delafield Co-Op Market Manager Gregory Byrd said the milestone shows HOTEL INC’s long-term commitment to the area.
“It just shows that hotel Inc. made a commitment to the neighborhood and also Warren County,” Byrd said. “And to be able to do that for 45 years, it’s awesome.”
Byrd said seeing the impact on people who use HOTEL INC’s services is what makes the work meaningful.
“I see the smiles every day of the changes that we make,” Byrd said. “Those who walk in, they definitely come out better than they came in.”
