Parker wins Adidas National Track title in 100-meter hurdle
GREENSBORO, N.C. – Over the weekend the 2026 Adidas Track Nationals took place in North Carolina, with local athlete Korbyn Parker leaving the field with a big accomplishment.
A year ago, Parker, a student-athlete at South Warren Middle School, competed in the 100-meter hurdle and finished seventh in the nation with a time of 14.83 seconds.
After that result, he was motivated to do even better.
He spent the whole offseason training and was able to finish first overall this time around.
Parker ended last year on a high note but still felt the struggles to finish out his events.
Thanks to his hard work, both with South Warren and with his club team ‘Flight 337,’ he is now a national champion, running the 100-meter hurdle this year in just 13.92 seconds.
“ It was an exciting experience because I’ve, like, never won a national title, and last year I told myself I was going to come back and I was going to do better and I was going to get top six, top five, top whatever,” Parker said.
“My training helps me get to where I am today, and I feel like with my training I could do whatever.”
Parker’s ultimate goal is to earn a college scholarship and to compete soon in the Nike Nationals.
Entering his freshman year at South Warren High School, he plans to spend plenty of time this summer on the track, setting the sky as his limit.
