Man charged with rape, sexual abuse involving minor in Leitchfield

GRAYSON COUNTY, Ky. – One man is facing rape and sexual abuse charges in Leitchfield.
According to the Leitchfield Police Department, on Thursday, authorities investigated allegations of sexual assault of a minor that were reported during an unrelated call for service.
As a result, 42-year-old Christopher Hayes was arrested and charged with first-degree rape, first-degree sexual abuse and fourth-degree assault.
Authorities say through an investigation, they found Hayes had “engaged in sexual intercourse and deviate sexual acts with a juvenile over 50 times over the course of several years.” Police say Hayes admitted to the acts during an interview before he was placed under arrest.
Authorities say the investigation remains ongoing, and additional charges are possible.
Hayes was lodged in the Grayson County Detention Center without further incident.
