Feed the Force fundraiser supports South Central Kentucky Crime Stoppers
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Many community members, city and county leaders and law enforcement officers gather at the SOKY Center for the annual Feed the Force fundraiser.
This is an opportunity for community members to highlight people WHO sacrifice their time to ensure community safety remains a top priority.
Kevin Miles, South Central Kentucky Crime Stoppers board member says, “The men and women that are in this occupation know that this community supports them and, and want to do something even just, you know, buying a plate of food is a small token, but it’s appreciated. It means a lot to us to know that the community supports us.”
Crime Stoppers includes anonymous tips, volunteers and officers from all over south-central Kentucky coming together to eliminate crime and to build relationships throughout the community.
Miles says, “More things can come from those connections, but I knew I wanted to be on Crime Stoppers for it, because I knew from my experience in law enforcement how important this organization can be to solving.”
Not only is this an opportunity for law enforcement officers to enjoy a good meal from Cotton Barbecue or the South Cow. It’s also a chance for community members to pour back into the people who keep them safe.
Kentucky State Police Trooper Katan Parker, public affairs officer for KSP Post Three, says, “I think it’s a blessing. It’s a huge blessing because it makes me feel like we, our community actually is out there for us to support them.”
