Hodgenville Police Chief releases statement on controversial social media posts

HODGENVILLE, Ky. – The Hodgenville Police Department released a statement regarding an investigation involving a juvenile on Monday.

According to a release, HPD says it is aware of social media posts by an individual making claims against the department, a juvenile and his mother.

Chief James Richardson says a video is misleading and references an investigation involving a juvenile.

Richardson says the information in the case is confidential and can only be accessed by authorized individuals. He goes on to say that the case was investigated and closed, and the family has been cooperative and provided resources.

No charges were filed following an investigation, according to the release.

Richardson says a portion of a call with dispatch regarding a welfare check was not in the video.

The individual who made the social media post is now facing criminal charges after the family felt they were being harassed, according to the release.
