Hilltoppers drop Friday game at Middle Tennessee

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – WKU Baseball (24-22; 9-13 CUSA) fell to Middle Tennessee (23-23; 10-12 CUSA) 7-1 Friday evening at Reese Smith Jr. Field.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Blue Raiders plated three runs on four hits in the home half of the first.
- A wild pitch added a run for Middle Tennessee in the fourth.
- Then, a base hit through the left side added two to give the Blue Raiders a six-run lead.
- The Blue Raiders added a run in the sixth.
- Cael Frost logged a solo home run to left field to lead off the Hilltopper ninth, marking the first of his WKU career.
NOTABLES
- With the loss, WKU falls to 24-22 on the year and 9-13 in CUSA play.
- Aaron Robertson started on the mound for WKU Friday.
- Out of the bullpen, Gage Olsen, Sam Frizzi, and Zack Serup all saw work on Friday.
- Gage Olsen tossed seven strikeouts in 4.1 innings of work in relief.
- Cael Frost headlined the offense for WKU, logging his first home run as a Hilltopper. He managed a 1-for-3 game with an RBI and a run.
