Barren County Middle School students host job fair

GLASGOW, Ky. – Eighth graders at Barren County Middle School hosted a job fair Thursday morning, showcasing careers they have been exploring in the classroom.

The event is part of a project-based learning initiative, giving students the opportunity to research different career paths and present what their futures could look like.

Families, classmates and community members were invited to walk through the event and see the students’ work up close.

School leaders say events like this help students build confidence while connecting classroom lessons to real-world opportunities.

“It’s that first step into a more research-based approach looking at the skills needed, job descriptions, education requirements and potential salary,” said Jacob Guminski, a teacher at Barren County Middle School. “It’s a good place for them to really dive in and figure out what areas they want to be in and what areas they may not.”

The job fair continues Friday from 11:05 a.m. to 2:40 p.m.
