George Washington Carver Center shares BRADD resources with the community
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – One local center brought the community together to spread the knowledge the Barren River Area Development District has to share.
The George Washington Carver Center held an event Friday for people in the community to host fellowship, to enjoy a meal and to be aware of the resources and care BRADD offers to people in south-central Kentucky.
Some of the resources include transportation, an advocate that you can rely on and so much more that people are unaware of.
Mikayla Patterson, the Aging and Disability Resource Center coordinator with BRADD, says, “There are so many people in our 10-county area that don’t even know we exist, and we want to change that. So we’re doing as many outreach events as possible to reach those who are aging or to reach those who are caring for aging loved ones.”
There are opportunities available for older adults, and there are also resources available to care takers.
Patterson says, “So many people struggle as they get into the caregiving role. Sometimes it comes unexpected and maybe they’re not prepared. So we always encourage them to reach out to our aging and disability resource center to help make those connections.”
