WKU Player of the Week: Hilltopper pitcher Rylan Smith

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Hilltopper softball pitcher Rylan Smith takes home this week’s WKU Player of the Week honor!
Smith tossed the team’s second no-hitter of the year on Saturday against ‘100 Miles of Hate’ rival MTSU.
She was lights out, going a full seven innings and striking out a season-high 11 Blue Raiders.
It’s the junior’s first collegiate no-hitter and the 15th in WKU softball history.
In addition to Saturday’s stellar outing, Smith saw action in two other games, including the midweek matchup versus Louisville.
Her 18 strikeouts in that span helped the Nolensville, Tennessee native eclipse 300 on her career.
Next up for the Tops is a trip to Las Cruces for a series with the New Mexico State Aggies.
