City of Bowling Green Signs Proclamation naming March Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month

BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- Wednesday afternoon, the City of Bowling Green signed a proclamation declaring the month of March Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month.
Members of the community, local officials, and members of the Center for Accessible Living gathered to witness the proclamation be signed and put into motion.
Declaring March as Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month helps shine light on those who may struggle with these issues and help give them the resources that they need.
The city also has plans to add many things to improve inclusivity around the area for members of the community as The Center for Assisted Living tries to get them involved in all things Bowling Green has to offer.
“We empower individuals to live independently. And we advocate that they also advocate for themselves and we also try to encourage them to take part in things in the community so that they feel included all of the time.” Said Lindsey Chaffin-Scott Manager at the Center for Accessible Living in Bowling Green.
The Center for Assisted Living has more plans in the future to continue to help those with developmental disabilities across the region.
