Humane Society of Logan County hosting 5K for St. Patrick’s Day
RUSSELLVILLE, Ky. – The Humane Society of Logan County is holding a 5K run and walk to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day.
The second annual Somewhere Over the Rainbow 5K Fun Run and Walk takes place on March 15th, starting at 2 PM in downtown Russellville.
It starts and ends at the Caldwell House parking lot on Sixth Street, and registration kicks off at 1 PM.
There will be plenty of fun things on hand, from food trucks to a DJ.
President Julie Martin says there’s another opportunity coming out of the event as well:
“It’s a great way for animal lovers all across Logan County, Warren County, Simpson County, all across the area to come out and honor and remember the pets that they’ve lost while helping us to care for the pets in the county that still need it,” she says.
To register, you can visit adoptlcpets.com/5k-run. It costs $35 for adults and $25 for children, and includes a t-shirt, medal, and goodie bag.
You can also drop by the shelter at 1970 Lewisburg Road in Russellville to learn about other ways to volunteer.
