WKU Player of the Week: Lady Topper guard Trinity Rowe
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – This week’s WKU Player of the Week honor goes to sophomore guard Trinity Rowe!
Rowe and the Lady Tops picked up a big win over MTSU on Saturday, downing the Blue Raiders 70-65.
The Pikeville, Ky. native was big help in getting the victory, scoring 18 points on 4-6 shooting from three-point land, and Rowe also dished out six assists to help the offense stay in rhythm.
Rowe is averaging just around 10 points per game in her 17 outings this season but nearly doubled that against the rival Blue Raiders.
She put up the great performance on zero minutes rest, for the second time this season, Rowe was on the court all 40 minutes.
In just year one on the Hill, she’s proven to be a leader for this team, and her head coach Greg Collins spoke on the solid game she had on Saturday.
“ I feel like [Trinity] played just a phenomenal game. I think she made one mistake the whole game and that was when she turned her back on the defense in the press with the time clock running down,” Collins said. “Outside of that, I don’t think she made hardly a mistake. Credit to the rest of the girls because they were really poised, and in the past we’ve not been poised and we’ve taken an off balance shot or made a crazy play. We just stayed calm and that changed everything, because then that allows you to find a Trinity Rowe at the three-point line.”
