WKU’s Kentucky Museum hosts Elementary and Middle School All State Art Show

BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- Starting Wednesday, elementary and middle school students across the Commonwealth will have their art projects on display at Western Kentucky University’s Kentucky Museum for the Kentucky Art Education Association Elementary and Middle School All State Art Show.

Students ranging from kindergarten to eighth grade statewide have submitted their artwork, which will be on display at the museum until March 14.

Members of the community not only have the opportunity to look at local students’ artwork this month but from students of Paducah and all the way to Pikeville as well.

The creativity of each student from all elements of art will be put on full display and not only showcases their abilities but how they were taught and able to learn and grow as artists.

“Setting up this show, my team and I think what we see is we have these passionate teachers too, that really let their students flow and find out where their passion lies,” said Brent Bjorkman, director of the Kentucky Museum. “And that’s what you see on these walls here of this very special all state show,” Bjorkman added.

The exhibit will be on display for the next four weeks, culminating on March 14 with a closing reception and an award ceremony.
