BG-WC Humane Society asking for donations to help dog’s recovery
BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- The Bowling Green-Warren County Humane Society is asking the community for donations to help aid a dog as she recovers from her injuries.
Becca was brought in by her owner after she had gotten her head stuck in her kennel. She suffered from numerous cuts on her face, and the medial expenses were just too much.
He thought he would have to get her euthanized, as he couldn’t afford to keep up with her medical bills, but the humane society says it promised him it would provide her with the proper medical care and a place to heal.
Becca was placed in a foster home where she is receiving the medical care she needs to get better and have her skin conditions heal.
She receives medical baths every other day, two different ear treatments daily and antibiotics for pain. This can get very expensive, and the price can get up to as high as $5,000.
The humane society is asking for donations to help Becca receive the treatment, and the community has already raised over $2,000 for her care.
“Without our community coming together and donating that money and making our medical fund what it is we would never be able to help in situations like this,” said Katlyn Hare, adoption counselor at Bowling Green-Warren County Humane Society. “So it’s amazing from people on the other side of a screen that have no clue this guy’s story. They don’t even know his name, you know, to rally around him so he’s able to keep his dog.”
The shelter expects Becca to make a recovery in a few weeks and be reunited with her loving owner. If you would like to donate and help with her care, visit the humane society’s Facebook here. https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1DbCotpAPe/?mibextid=wwXIfr
