Woodburn Fire Department gathering donations for family affected by house fire

WOODBURN, Ky. – The Woodburn Fire Department is going beyond fighting a fire after one family reportedly lost everything.

According to organizers, a family is in need of supplies, including food, after a house fire claimed all of the family’s possessions.

To help provide relief, the Woodburn Fire Department is stepping in to gather donations for the family.

On Saturday, Jan. 31, the community is invited to show support by dropping items off at both Woodburn Fire Department locations, which can be found at 900 Woodburn Allen Springs Road in Woodburn and 7055 Nashville Road in Bowling Green.

Currently, the list of requested donations includes the following:

  • Distilled water to mix formula
  • Bread
  • Ham
  • Cheese
  • Frozen pizza
  • Cereal, such as Frosted Flakes, Apple Jacks, or Fruit Loops
  • Doritos/tortilla chips/cheese puffs
  • Yukon gold potatoes
  • Whole garlic
  • Roman tomatoes
  • Onions
  • Dry beans, including pinto, black, lintels, white, Lima
  • Velveeta
  • Ro-Tel
  • Ground coffee – breakfast blend
  • Coffee creamer in French vanilla or caramel
  • Bottled water
  • Dr. Pepper Zero
  • Drink packets in grape and cherry
  • Diapers in size 1 or 2
  • Wet wipes
  • Diaper cream
  • Baby bath tub
  • Baby wash/lotion
  • Laundry detergent, Dreft, All Free and Clear, or Tide
  • Bounce dryer sheets
  • Shampoo/conditioner
  • Body wash
  • Razor/shaving cream
  • Toothpaste/toothbrush
  • Childrens Tylenol-chewable
  • Toilet paper
  • Paper towels
  • Paper plates
  • Dish detergent
  • Baby boy toys
  • Gift cards as Visa or Sam’s Club
  • Cash App donations to $AcunaTile (Feliciano Acuna) and/or Venmo to @Dana-Cartmill

In addition, organizers say cash or checks can be dropped off at the Woodburn Cemetery lock box. You will only need to put the family name Acuna, on the envelope, organizers say.
