2 Bowling Green men arrested after report of attempted sexual assault of minor

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Two men are behind bars in an alleged attempted sexual assault case involving a 14-year-old.

On Tuesday just before 10 p.m., the Bowling Green Police Department says it responded to a call in the 300 block of Morgantown Road regarding a 14-year-old female who reported she had been assaulted and that an attempted sexual assault had occurred.

During the investigation, officers say they responded to 1616 South Sunrise Drive, where two adult males were located in the residence.

Police say both subjects were transported to BGPD headquarters for interviews.

During questioning, police say both men admitted to various acts involving the victim.

Thirty-seven-year-old Prince Byakubire of Bowling Green was arrested and charged with first-degree sexual abuse and fourth-degree assault (minor injury). In addition, 32-year-old Paluku Augustin of Bowling Green was arrested and charged with second-degree unlawful transaction with a minor.

The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are expected.
