Andy Barr stops in Bowling Green as Senate race continues

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Congressman Andy Barr stopped in Bowling Green Friday night to hold a meet-and-greet with supporters.

Barr stopped at Three Thirty One and spoke on his background, beliefs and why he believes he’s the best candidate to represent Kentucky in Washington D.C.

On Thursday, he voted to pass the latest budget, which plans to strengthen the military and cut wasteful spending.

Barr says he voted in favor for three reasons: it reduces spending, implements views he believes in, and more importantly prevents another government shutdown.

“Bottom line, this was a win for the country. We are enacting a more fiscally responsible budget. The deficit is the lowest it’s been in three years. We got a long way to go. A long way to go to cut more spending and get our fiscal house in order. But this appropriations package puts Republican priorities in place,” he says.

Barr also thanked everyone for spending some time with him, especially before the winter storm. He says he believes momentum is on his side in this campaign for U.S. Senate.
