Scottsville Baptist Church serves hot meals on cold nights during winter months

SCOTTSVILLE, Ky.- During the winter months, Scottsville Baptist Church will be serving hot meals on cold nights each Thursday to members of the community.

Since the beginning of December, the church has served hot meals each Thursday to anyone interested.

The idea came about with the uncertainty around SNAP benefits and has continued with many members of the church and the Scottsville area coming each week.

The church even hosted a Christmas dinner this year for everyone to enjoy as the holiday fell on a Thursday.

Everyone in the Scottsville area is welcome to come out and enjoy food and fellowship with the church.

“People are just hearing, and they’re coming. It’s not a church service. It’s not anything. We pray for them. We love on them, but it’s just a great it’s a great venue for the community to come in to get fed.” Said Shaun Watson, Senior Pastor at Scottsville Baptist Church.

The Church will continue serving meals each Thursday from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. until the end of March.
