Med Center to host 34th annual Women in the Arts program

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – For decades, Med Center has continued the tradition of showcasing women in art.

The Women in the Arts program is back for its 34th year, showcasing artists, young and old. It’s giving them the chance to create and express themselves through different art media.

The local talent will create things like sculptures, sketches,  painting and other art forms to shine a light on women’s art.

Sarah Widner, the community wellness director, tells us, “I hope they feel valued. I hope that their creativity, and their art and, you know, whatever piece they bring to the show, that they feel like it’s valued because we’re going to have artists. We have artists every year that might be just starting out. So this is the first time they’ve ever entered anything, or they’ve been entering for years and years and are well known in the art community. We have a little bit of everything.”

Feb. 13 is the final day to submit artwork, and last year spots filled up rather quickly.  For more information on how you can sign up visit their website.
