Relay For Life holds kickoff meeting for 2026

BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- Tuesday evening, Relay for Life held its kickoff meeting for the 2026 year at the Bowling Green Ballpark Performance Club.

Board members discussed plans for fundraising and other events for the upcoming year, and also handed out awards to the highest donating teams from 2025.

Important dates for team meetings for the rest of the year – along with donation information – were also given out to team members at the event.

With all donations going towards cancer research, it is important to help raise money and participate in the event in any way possible over the next ten months.

“And that’s our main thing is research and development,” said Trish Seifert, the lead for the Relay for Life committee. “We got to figure this disease out. There’s probably no one in the world that hasn’t been touched by cancer in some form or fashion. And we have got to figure this thing out.”

Pirates of the Caribbean was named the theme for the 2026 race.

The next meeting will be held March 10th at 5:30 at BGMU.
