Girl Scouts of Kentuckiana cookie season kicks off, including new cookie flavor
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – When most people think of Girl Scouts, they may instantly think of cookie season.
While Girl Scout Cookie season has started, the girls who are involved get so much more.
Felicia Bland, membership experience coordinator for Girl Scouts of Kentuckiana, says, “This is their first taste of business. Many businesswomen will tell you they got their first start through the Girl Scout Cookie sale. This is teaching girls entrepreneurial skills, money management, goal setting, things that she’s going to need when she becomes an adult.“
Encouraging kids when they’re little and giving them experiences that they can hold on to can change the trajectory of their lives.
Bland also says, “This is a place where I could believe in myself. A place that I could belong and be around other girls and learn so many different new skills, even as an adult.”
Creating an environment for young girls to gain transferable skills not only helps them now, it can also positively impact their futures.
In addition, Girl Scout Cookies are offering a new flavor with Exploremores.
The new chocolate cookies includes a creamy filling with notes of chocolate, marshmallow and toasted almond-flavored crème.
