Free holiday movie marathon returns to Capitol
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WNKY) – Families looking for a free way to spend time together this holiday season can head to The Capitol by Warren County Public Library for a full day of classic animated films.
The Capitol’s annual “Warming Movie Marathon” returns Friday, Dec. 26, starting at 8 a.m. The all-day event is free and open to the public, offering a welcoming space for community members during a time when many gathering places are closed.
“This is our third year doing the Warming Movie Marathon,” said Daniel Ungs, marketing coordinator for the Capitol Theatre. “We really just want to be able to give people a space to go and give people the space to come together and decompress after a long, chaotic holiday season.”
This year’s lineup features nostalgic animated favorites including “Anastasia,” “The Secret of NIMH,” “The Last Unicorn” and “All Dogs Go to Heaven.” Organizers say the films were chosen for their nostalgic elements and universal themes that appeal to audiences of all ages.
Ungs said attendance has steadily grown each year, and organizers hope that continues as the event becomes a holiday tradition in downtown Bowling Green.
The free movie marathon takes place Friday, Dec. 26, at the Capitol Theatre in downtown Bowling Green.
