1 dead in fatal Knox County crash

GRAY, Ky. – On Saturday, Dec. 20, the Kentucky State Police received dispatch to a two-vehicle collision on U.S. 25-E around 6:30 p.m. in Knox County.

Authorities said the investigation indicates that a tractor-trailer crossed the southbound lane of travel and stopped in the median in attempt to merge into the northbound lane.

The driver’s side of the trailer was blocking the southbound lane, resulting in a collision with a Toyota Prius, troopers say.

The operator of the Prius, Crit Moses, 93, was transported by Knox County EMS and later flown to the University of Kentucky Hospital with critical injuries.

The Fayette County Deputy Coroner pronounced Moses dead due to his injuries sustained in the crash.

The collision is still under investigation.
