Glory Baby Ministry hosts ‘Glory in the Mourning’ support group

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Glory Baby Ministry hosted its Glory in the Mourning support group meeting on Monday, aimed at helping women who have gone through the struggles of losing a baby.

It featured a comforting meal, meaningful discussion and a craft to show how shattered hearts can be made into something strong.

The group was created in March of 2025, and this is one of the first times they’ve met as a group.

Executive director Jessica Heffinger says it’s important for them to come together so each of them can share their journeys and how they’ve overcome everything.

“To walk along with somebody else that has gone through what you’ve went through and to know what you’ve gone through in the pain that you were feeling, and the shattered pieces within you that you’re feeling. It’s so important to have that support from the community,” she says.

During the meeting, they also picked out a pair of gowns for a family in Nebraska they work with who’s also going through their own situation… and it’s through situations like this and the craft they made with broken glass that help them bond with each other.

“That camaraderie that comes with it is so meaningful than just sending a text, it’s coming together in person, leaning on each other, and then hearing others say I’m going through this in my grief right now… and they’re like, ‘Oh, I’m going through that right now too. I don’t feel so alone.’ It is so important for the community,” Heffinger says.
