4 Things You Need to Know: November 20, 2025

  • The Warren County Public Library’s winter reading program has commenced! Complete any combination of 10 books, audiobooks, or library programs and events and receive a free book and a WCPL beanie. All completed logs will be entered to win a grand prize, a private movie rental at The Capitol or a private storytime with your favorite character! This winter program runs through January 31st.
  • Today at 3pm, head over to the Salvation Army as they kick off their Christmas Red Kettle campaign and the “Battle of the Bells,” with Rob Clayton, Superintendent for Warren County Public Schools going against Gary Fields, Superintendent of Bowling Green Independent Schools, Warren County Sheriff Brett Hightower vs. Bowling Green Police Chief Michael Delaney, and Warren County Judge Executive Doug Gorman against Bowling Green Mayor Todd Alcott.
  • The Barren County Historical Society is having Tommy Jackson, local historian and retired banker, present on Barren countians: political servants far and near. This takes place tonight at 6pm at the South Central Kentucky Cultural Center in Glasgow. Admission is free.
  • Tonight, the WKU Symphonic Band is holding a concert at Bowling Green High School. This band consists of over 80 woodwind, brass and percussion players, performing contemporary original works, classical transcriptions, and traditional marches. The concert begins at 7:30 and is free and open to the public.
