Gas station employee arrested after allegedly fabricating an armed robbery

RUSH, Ky. – An Ashland man is facing criminal charges after allegedly fabricating an armed robbery.
Kentucky State Police says it responded to an armed robbery at the Marathon Gas Station at 9822 U.S. 60 in Rush on Wednesday.
Troopers contacted the store employee, Jessie McDaniels, 32, of Ashland, at the scene.
McDaniels told police two armed men entered the gas station, held him at gunpoint, stole an undisclosed amount of money, and fled.
Troopers say the investigation showed several inconsistencies in McDaniels’ recount of the incident.
The troopers examined the evidence and interviews further and say McDaniels fabricated the armed robbery to hide his criminal actions.
McDaniels was arrested and charged with false Reporting of an Incident.
The investigation is ongoing.
