Man arrested after drug bust at Scottsville residence

SCOTTSVILLE, Ky. – One man is facing several charges after a drug bust at a Scottsville residence.

The Scottsville Police Department says on Nov. 12 around 9:05 a.m., officers and the South Central Kentucky Drug Task Force worked together to serve a search warrant at 407 N. Third St. at Green Valley Apartments.

Authorities say during a search of the residence of 60-year-old Shawn Barton, they located a large amount of marijuana, methamphetamine, firearms and other items consistent with trafficking in illegal narcotics.

Co-defendant 57-year-old Taylor Shelton was charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon and trafficking in marijuana, first offense (enhancement).

Barton was charged and lodged at the Allen County Detention Center.
