Community dances for a cause at Med Center Charity Ball

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WNKY) – Hundreds of people dressed in their finest gathered at the Sloan Convention Center on Saturday night for the Med Center Health Foundation’s 21st annual Charity Ball, a black-tie event raising money to support local health programs across Southern Kentucky.

The fundraiser, described as the largest charity event in the community, benefits several Med Center Health initiatives, including the Community Clinic, the Dental Clinic, and the Hospitality House, which offers free lodging to families of patients receiving treatment at The Medical Center.

“This year’s the 21st annual Charity Ball, where we raise money for causes that give back to the community,” said Corie Martin, executive director of marketing and public relations for Med Center Health. “Every dollar helps programs like the Community Clinic, the Dental Clinic, and our Hospitality House for families going through cancer treatment or with babies in the NICU.”

More than 600 guests attended this year’s event, which featured dinner, live music, and dancing. Organizers say hundreds of thousands of dollars were raised to support the foundation’s mission.

“It’s incredible to see so many people come out, nearly 600 tonight, all helping raise hundreds of thousands of dollars for families facing health crises,” said Michael Cowles, chair of the Med Center Health Foundation Board. “It really makes me happy to see everyone enjoying themselves while supporting such a great cause.”

Officials say all proceeds stay local, ensuring that every contribution directly benefits programs that provide medical, dental, and housing support to those in need.
