Ribbon-cutting celebrates Price Less IGA reopening, Houchens presents donations
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A long-time grocery store on Bowling Green’s north side has a fresh look.
Houchens has been remodeling its Price Less IGA on Louisville Road since the summer, and the ribbon-cutting to celebrate the renovations was on Friday.
As part of the festivities, Houchens presented $1,000 each to three different groups: St. Teresa’s Food Pantry, SOKY Patriots for its backpack program and the Warren East Band, who performed music at the ribbon-cutting.
The changes to the store include more than just a new look.
The produce section has been expanded, and there is also a salad bar.
Kyle Wilson, grocery marketing manager with Houchens Food Group, says, “Yeah. A lot of new additions to the store. We are a cost plus grocery store and, local and fresh is what we strive to be. And as soon as you walk in the store, you’ll notice the produce. You get a fresh experience as soon as you walk in.”
Houchens has been operating a grocery store on Louisville Road for decades at the Northgate Shopping Center, and for the longest time it was the only market north of Barren River.
