WKU Student Government Association launches “Swipe It Forward” program

BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- The Western Kentucky University Student Government Association launched its “Swipe It Forward” program in partnership with WKU Restaurant Groups on Monday. 

The program launched this week to help ensure students don’t go hungry on campus. Students can donate up to three meal swipes a semester and apply for assistance if needed. 

The meal swipes can be used at the Fresh Food Company on campus, helping students who need access to food but may not have it. 

When asked about what the program will help with, SGA Chief Communications Officer Preston Jenkins stated, “This is going to give us additional data on students. So part of this program is giving back, but also finding this new data on, you know, what students need with regards to food.”

The first donation period started Monday, November 3rd, and will run until Friday, November 7th. All donations or requests are kept confidential but the University.
