Traffic stop leads to Scottsville drug arrests

SCOTTSVILLE, Ky. – Two people are facing drug-related charges following a traffic stop in Scottsville.

The Scottsville Police Department says it worked with the South Central Kentucky Drug Task Force and the Allen County Sheriff’s Office on Monday.

Police say a traffic stop was conducted on North Third Street in Scottsville.

As a result, authorities say 57-year-old Taylor Shelton and 60-year-old Shawn Barton were taken into custody. Shelton remains at the Allen County Detention Center. Barton has since been released.

Barton is charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance, first offense (methamphetamine) and tampering with physical evidence. Shelton is charged with careless driving and first-degree possession of a controlled substance, first offense (drug unspecified).
