BRASS holds domestic violence awareness event

SCOTTSVILLE, Ky.- Scottsville community members gathered with The Barren River Safe Area to hold a candlelight vigil for those who lost their lives to domestic violence.

Domestic violence has become a big issue in the community that many deal with each day. In the last year, BRASS received 2,800 domestic violence reports with over 100 coming from the Allen County area.

To honor victims who were lost to domestic violence and those that have survived, the organization has decided to hold numerous events during October, starting with Tuesday’s vigil.

Community leaders and members gathered with BRASS to hear stories from survivors, learn more about the issue, and honor lives lost in the last year in the state of Kentucky.
