Butler County Rescue Squad and fire departments partnering with Morgantown Bank & Trust to offer debit cards

MORGANTOWN, Ky. – In Butler County, you can show your support for first responders and give back to them at the same time.

Morgantown Bank and Trust has rolled out new debit cards honoring local first responders, available to all customers at no extra cost.

The best part is that proceeds from every purchase go to the Morgantown and Butler County Fire Departments, and the local Rescue Squad.

“I think they do it every quarter, they will split… divvy up between the six of us, and then all those donations basically come to us for our own personal account. If you’re a Morgantown member, anybody can go and say that you want the First Responder card… and they’ll hook you up and get you set on the way, and then every time they use that card, we get a percentage which is not charged to them if you run the card, but it don’t charge the people,” Rescue Squad chief Brandon Keown says.

The chief says since the rescue squad is a nonprofit, these are a huge way to help them continue serving the community.

“These cards will just kind of help us better for our equipment, try to get newer stuff, updated equipment and it’s more… we can help the community a whole lot better, faster and just make everything a little bit easier,” Keown says.
