City of Bowling Green purchases U.S. Bank building downtown
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The City of Bowling Green has purchased the US Bank building downtown to have some additional office space for city workers.
Due to the growth of the city, they realized they haven’t expanded their footprint in over a decade. With that growth, they looked at how to meet that need, and this is the result.
Neighborhood and Community Services director Brent Childers says this will also maintain a bank presence downtown, while giving the city a chance to expand their space to combat the growth.
“We’re excited about what that means for downtown Bowling Green, what it means to retain a longstanding bank in Bowling Green but also give the city an opportunity to expand and look at new ways to provide services,” Childers says.
He adds the bank will maintain operations on the first floor, while the city will take the remaining three quarters of the building.
They expect to be operational by spring 2026.
