Small Farm Aid hosted by Re-Tree BG to benefit mission of planting trees in Bowling Green

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A local nonprofit is bringing music and community together to help grow a greener Bowling Green.

Re-Tree BG is hosting “Small Farm Aid” Friday night at the Capitol, starting at 6:30.

Local farmer and musician Wille Huston will lead the concert, featuring several local performers, along with Grammy Award winning songwriter Aaron Raitiere.

All proceeds will support Re-Tree BG’s mission of planting trees throughout the city, providing shade, beauty and environmental benefits to the community.

“They provide shade, help give us clean air, help prevent stormwater runoff… and really they just provide a place for people to gather… really a very calming effect that trees have on the general community,” Re-Tree BG president Clara Verst says.

The concert starts at 6:30 and will feature Laurel Lewis, Mark Whitley, Candace Barbee, Hugh Trimble, Hayley Haynes, Huston and Raitiere.
