Newly formed Warren County Fire Department unites volunteers and paid staff

BOWLING GREEN, KY.-  A big change is coming to volunteer fire departments in Warren County.

Nine volunteer fire departments will now operate under one umbrella as the newly formed Warren County Fire Department. According to the Kentucky Fire Commission, this aims to improve service quality across the county.

County Deputy Fire Coordinator Michael Alden says the unified department enhances the capabilities of all nine stations.

The change also includes the addition of paid staff, helping reduce the administrative burden on volunteers. Importantly, the names and legacies of the original departments will be preserved. Alden emphasized that honoring the history of each department was vital to both citizens and founding members.

The transition is set to take effect on September 1, marking a new chapter for fire services in Warren County.
