Tennessee man charged with DUI after crash in Bowling Green

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A Tennessee man is behind bars following a crash in Bowling Green.

According to a uniform citation, the Warren County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a reported crash Thursday around 7:13 p.m. to the intersection of Cemetery Road and the exit 26 northbound ramp to Interstate 65.

Deputies say they located two vehicles involved in the crash.

Authorities say an off-duty deputy advised the driver of one of the vehicles showed signs of impairment. In addition, deputies say he stated there were multiple open alcoholic containers in the vehicle.

Deputies say the driver, identified as 25-year-old Samuel Morales of Columbia, Tennessee, stated he had consumed one alcoholic beverage.

The citation states the vehicle smelled of both alcohol and marijuana.

Morales was arrested.

During a vehicle search, authorities say they located three open alcoholic beverage containers.

Following medical clearance, Morales was transported to the Warren County Regional Jail.

He faces charges of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, first offense, no operators-moped license, failure of owner to maintain required insurance/security, first offense, no registration receipt, no registration plates, possession of open alcohol beverage container in motor vehicle prohibited, first-degree wanton endangerment and first-degree criminal mischief.
