Bowling Green Junior High prepares for new additions, renovations

BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- Bowling Green Independent Schools is making exciting updates to better serve its growing student population.

Bowling Green Junior High School, built 24 years ago, is preparing for major renovations. The district plans to expand the current bus loop and courtyard to create more space and enhance opportunities for students.

Superintendent Gary Fields says it’s time to begin again and meet the school’s evolving needs.

The expansion will not only support academics but also enrich the overall student experience. New spaces will be added for band, choir, orchestra, drama, robotics and other tech programs.

Construction, estimated to cost $23 million, is set to begin in the spring of 2026 and is expected to take about 20 months. Stay tuned for updates as the project moves forward.
