Dunbar Adoption Benefit to support local family

LOGAN COUNTY, Ky. – A Russellville family is stepping up in a big way to support friends adopting a child by hosting the Dunbar Adoption Benefit.

The event aims to ease the financial burden of adoption for Katherine and Trey Dunbar, a beloved couple known for their bond with children.

Coordinator Natalie Payne says, “They’re easy to love. We call them kid magnets.”

Their strong ties to the community made it easy for others to rally behind their adoption journey.

Co-organizer Demaris Payne adds, “They do anything for anybody. We wanted them to enjoy the experience without financial stress.”

The benefit will feature food trucks, games and activities for the whole family, with all proceeds going directly to the Dunbars. Organizers say the inspiration to help came from a deep sense of purpose and faith.

The Dunbar Adoption Benefit will take place Aug. 2 from 6 to 9 p.m. at 237 E. Sixth St. in Russellville.
