Railpark & Train Museum in need of donations to fix issues with car and trolley

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Historic RailPark and Train Museum is looking for a little help to stay on track.

Staff say they’ve ran into a few issues with some of the cars, including the Bowling Green Trolley.

The kneel mechanism, which is very costly, got stuck in the down position over the weekend, taking it out of operations for days.

Meanwhile, the railroad post office car is now without air conditioning, which is an even bigger strain on revenue for the RailPark.

That’s why they’re raising money to help cover these costs, including the air conditioning repair and the bill for the trolley.

“We got word that we’re actually going to have to replace the entire air conditioning unit, and at that point, I said ‘Hey, I think we need to do a campaign and see if some of supporters will help us to pay for these expenses that were completely unexpected in the middle of our busy tourism season’… and it’s really gone well so far,” Jessica Warren, the RailPark’s development director says.
