Warren Co. Public Schools to offer free meals to all students for upcoming school year
WARREN COUNTY, Ky. – Warren County Public Schools has announced all WCPS students will receive free meals for the 2025-26 school year.
The district says this is thanks to its participation in the Community Eligibility Provision program.
WCPS says free meals will include one free breakfast and one free lunch each school day, which staff add is incredibly important for students learning in the classroom.
“A hungry child cannot learn, so we want to make sure that we can take that off the table. We can provide that for them, and that way when they’re in our wonderful facilities and they’re working with our wonderful teachers and everyone in our buildings, that they are ready to absorb everything and ready to grow and learn,” WCPS Director of Nutrition and Dining Kelly Holt says.
He also says he’s excited that each student gets the opportunity to enjoy fresh fruits, vegetables and much more each and every day at school, and adds this is a huge opportunity for the county.
