SCRTC hosts ribbon cutting in celebration of 75th anniversary

GLASGOW, Ky. – South Central Rural Telecommunications Cooperative, or SCRTC, celebrated 75 years of serving the community Friday.

At their Happy Valley Road location, they celebrated with a ribbon cutting, food trucks, local radio stations making appearances, and the crowd favorite: a T-shirt drop from one of their trucks.

One SCRTC employee, who is also the board chair for Barren Inc., the Barren County Chamber of Commerce, says being part of the celebration was a personal highlight for her.

“We have a moral obligation to make the area in which we live better, and that’s… we can do that with the Chamber, with Barren Inc., and we can do it here at SCRTC with the services that we offer… so that was a great moment,” Nicole Randall, who is part of SCRTC’s marketing team, says.

Employees are excited to be part of the first 75 years, and can’t wait for the 100th anniversary and many more years to come.
