The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet unveils new drivers license

Kentucky residents now have an idea of what their new drivers licenses will look like in 2019

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet has unveiled the design of the new ID card and drivers license. Beginning in early 2019, Kentuckians will have two options for their license, permit or personal ID: either a standard credential or a voluntary travel ID.

The new cards represent a leap forward in safeguarding credentials, shifting portraits from color to grayscale, and the background includes artistic symbols of Kentucky, like the state seal and Goldenrod state flower.
