Aviation Heritage Park set to host Rocket Camp on July 31

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – If your child loves space, the Aviation Heritage Park is hosting a hands-on opportunity to learn all about rockets.

The park will host a Rocket Camp on July 31st, with sessions from 9:00 AM to noon and 1:00 to 4:00 PM, giving kids a chance to learn how rockets work and even build their own.

The camp teaches principles like drag, thrust and gravity, and ends with a chance to launch the rockets they create.

It’s a fun way to spark interest in STEM while letting kids shoot for the stars.

“The whole idea is to spark curiosity in kids about science and about engineering, and maybe get them to start seeing themselves in those roles someday in the future. So we have a lot of fun, but there’s a lot of STEM related education going on too,” Bob Bubnis, the Aviation Heritage Park’s executive director, said.

Again, the camp is on July 31st. Registration is $50 and spots are filling up quick.
