Back to School Block party at Mt. Zion Baptist Church

BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- If you’re local, for a fun and exciting way to kick off back-to-school season, look no further.

Mount Zion Baptist Church is teaming up with the Bowling Green Police Department for their annual Back-to-School Block Party.

The event will provide 500 free backpacks and school supplies for students from kindergarten through college.

Attendees will also have a chance to win big prizes, including laptops and bikes. Carol Phelps, a volunteer from Mount Zion, says the event brings much-needed joy to the community.

“With so much going on, we need happiness and joy, they’ll be excited to see all the school supplies they get,” she shared. The block party takes place on July 19, and backpacks will be handed out on a first-come, first-served basis.
