TJ Samson awarded $70,000 grant from WHAS Crusade for Children

GLASGOW, Ky. – TJ Samson Regional is receiving a $70,000 grant donation from WHAS Crusade for Children to help its rehab services department.

TJ Samson plans to use the funds to provide a music therapist to help kids and patients in the NICU unit at the hospital.

Staff also say they’re going to build an all-inclusive outdoor playground that’ll help families who have autistic children learn how to play and engage with them.

“As an occupational therapist here, you look at each individual and you’re treating the whole family… it’s a very holistic approach, not just the child and the 1 or 2 deficits. If it wasn’t for the grant and programs like the Crusade for Children, we just couldn’t keep helping these families and doing what we’re doing… and so we feel very blessed,” Director of Rehab Services Stephanie Smith says.

The staff at TJ are thankful for the partnership with Crusade for Children, because their donations really make a difference in the lives of the families they are able to help.
