2024 Crime in Kentucky Report shows drop in overall serious crime
FRANKFORT, Ky. – On Tuesday, Gov. Andy Beshear announced overall serious crime rates in 2024 dropped compared to last year.
According to a release by the Kentucky State Police, the 2024 Crime in Kentucky Report shows that, from 2023 to 2024, 17 out of 23 categories saw a decrease in reported crimes.
Officials say this is a drop of nearly 8% compared to last year.
Standout data includes a 11.55% decrease in drug and narcotic offenses, a 12.7% decrease in homicide offenses and a 13.78% decrease in sex offenses, officials say.
