Mini golf meets craft beer in Bowling Green Father’s Day celebration
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WNKY) — Some Bowling Green families celebrated Father’s Day with a twist this year; one that involved mini golf, music and craft beer.
White Squirrel Brewery partnered with local business The Fun Forge to host a pop-up mini golf event on the brewery’s patio Sunday afternoon. The event invited dads and their families to grab a putter, enjoy a drink and play a few rounds together—all while staying out of the summer heat.
“Today we decided to partner with White Squirrel… let some dads come and play some mini golf with their kids,” said Shawn Quinn, owner of The Fun Forge. “Just letting people have some fun and a little out of the heat and humidity for the day.”
The course, complete with themed obstacles, was handcrafted by Quinn himself as part of his growing collection of party rentals. The Fun Forge regularly offers interactive games like giant Jenga and Connect Four, and now, custom-built mini golf courses that can be rented for private events.
“One day I was flipping through social media and I saw this and I thought, you know what? I could probably build that,” Quinn said. “So I drew out some plans, got some ideas, and built these over the last couple weeks.”
For Quinn, the event also carried a personal meaning. “It’s just nice, being a dad myself… just giving families a nice place to be, somewhere to hang out, do some family-friendly things and enjoy some music and have some good food and just hang out and be a family,” he said.
